I'd like to network with other travel writers. Do you know of any networking groups? I'm not sure if I'd be able to find something local which is what I'd prefer.
What networking groups are there for travel writers?

The answer depends upon what it is you're looking for in a group - networking in the strict sense of the word? Which is, opportunities to promote yourself as a travel writer and find jobs? If that's the case, then you'll want to network less with other travel writers and more with groups that can help you find opportunities, such as local Chambers of Commerce, Travel and Tourism groups, etc. so try looking there first.
If you're referring to meeting with groups of travel writers who can help you improve your craft, check with the bookstores in your area - often they are a great resource for finding (or even starting) a writer's group. Check also with local community colleges, and talk to professors who teach writing classes. They may be able to put you in touch with other writers who want to also join or start a group.
Online groups can work really well also, because they allow you to connect with people who are interested in the same type of writing - in this case, travel writing - as you are. Google is a great place to start or join a group.
One of our Forum members (ChinaGuide) has started a Google group that you might check out:
http://groups.google.com/group/travel-writing-collaboration. You will need a (free) Google account first. Then, you can request to be added to the group. If neither of those is what you were referring to, post back so that we can be of more help.

I'd like to meet other writers, but I'd also like to promote my writing services. I'm thinking about business networking groups as well. Thanks for the tips!
