Couldn't help but wonder if some travel writers sabotage their own writing? Perhaps you make assumption about the people you meet while on the road. I don't know. What do ya think?

Can you explain a little more what you mean by "sabotage"? Even if you make assumptions about people you meet, aren't you still just telling a story?
Maybe if you rephrase your question so it's more clear, someone can give you a good opinion - lord knows we have lots of opinions around here!
