Carter, thanks for the question. Travel writing courses can be found online or even at colleges, universities, and vocational schools.
AWAI (www.awai.com) is very popular because they offer courses specifically for "lifestyle careers." Visit Mediabistro (www.mediabistro.com) because they offer many travel writing courses for beginner and advanced travel writers. Your local colleges and universities may offer travel writing courses. Go online and review their academic section and see what you discover.
If you have a local bookstore, check them out. Sometimes they will offer a travel writing class taught by a local writer. I hope this answered your question.

Just wanted to let everyone know that The Heritage House in Keywest, FL will be hosting its two Travel Writing Workshops in 2009; January 30, 31 and February 1st; February 6th thru 8th. The cost is $275 which may be steep for some travel writers. If you can come up with the cash, go for it!
Visit Heritage House Museum for more information.

Thanks for the information about the Travel Writing Workshop in Keywest, FL. My wife and I love Florida and are considering taking a vacation. She'll probably love the fact that I would be enrolled in a class...It would give her some time to herself...Curly

The New Year is upon us and travel writing courses and conferences will be coming up.
Check out these email courses from Writers Weekly: "LOCAL NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINE MARKETS:
TAP INTO YOURS!" and THE ART OF THE PRESS RELEASE.FYI: these make great gifts for the holiday...maybe if you drop hints, someone will purchase a course or two for you!
