I've been writing travel articles for almost 40 years, including having three columns and a radio program on travel. Now, with the industry taking somewhat of a nosedive and "regrouping", I am doing blogs for a women's website and trying to get back into travel writing to survive. I've run into Craig's lists' "thanks for the article, we'll let you know"...they run it...no pay. What's the best way to start again and make a difference?St

Writing for 40 years and a radio program sounds awesome...
One way you could start again is to begin your own blog and monetize it through affiliate marketing. Check out our forum and Travel-Writers-Exchange.com's pages and blogs on affiliate marketing. You could write about travel and at the same time promote an organization's services/products and earn commissions when people purchase the services/products.
You could also do social networking like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter to get the "word" out about your travel writing. You may want to sign up with Ezine Articles and do some article marketing. It's a great way to get linkbacks to your website.
Do you have photos? You could sell your photos on your website or submit them to iStockphoto and other photography websites...I hope this helped...Good luck!
