A few suggestions Bob:
1) Put a picture of yourself in the "About us" section. We would all love to see who we are following the adventures of
2) The right-click and highlight function are disabled
It makes it hard for some people to comment about things or right-click spell check.
3) When you visit a place try taking some photos to share on your blog posts. They help the traffic to your site both organically and externally.
4) putting link-able tags on your posts (similar to how they do it on this site) will also help increase flow to individual posts.Hope those help. The rest looks really good though.

Great site, bit tropical on the decor there but I understand the angle you're coming from - check out earthcircuitfor ideas for your blog...
