How many people "re-pitch" their articles to another editor if it's been squashed by your current editor? It's not like editors keep in contact with another. At least, I don't think they do. Has anyone ever re-pitched an article that your editor squashed? Please share your advice. Thanks!

Hi Duchess
YES you absolutely SHOULD pitch your articles to other editors if one (or more) declines - that's standard operating procedure, and editors are not only aware of it, but encourage it!
In fact, if you happen to get lucky enough to have your pitch read on a really GOOD day for an editor, you may get this very suggestion as part of your declination, along with a recommendation for a publication that would be a better fit for your article. I do that often when I get pitches - if they don't fit what we do here on TWE, I try to suggest alternative outlets.
On a side note, just so you know, many editors DO keep in touch with each other and often share information - both good and bad - about authors. Keep this in mind always, and know that cultivating a good relationship with as many editors as possible is worth your time and effort - they'll be much more likely to say good things about you when asked by other editors, and will be more open to giving you advice and suggestions.
