This came to me via email, so I'm posting it here for the benefit of all of you:
Hi Ms. Miller,
I wanted to let you and your readers on Travel Writers Exchange know about a new market for travel writing. Overnight Buses Travel Magazine is a new magazine for the iPad currently accepting submissions for our second issue. Our first issue is already in the App Store and can be downloaded for free at:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/overnight-buses-magazine/id493329039?ls=1&mt=8.
Overnight Buses aims to be the premiere iPad travel magazine for long-form travel narratives. We're looking for stories between 1000 to 5000 words and our current pay rate is between $250 and $350 (U.S. Dollars). Our main focuses are personal narratives, essays and travel journalism, basically the things you don't find much in print magazines anymore. Another thing that sets us apart from the competition is our willingness to publish the gritty stories about places and events that other magazines shy away from. We also love new writers and we encourage them to submit their work.
Writers can find more information about our guidelines on our website at:
http://www.overnightbuses.com/submissions.html
Submissions can be sent directly to me (Tom) at submissions@overnightbuses.com. Please know we do not publish guides, recommendations or accept queries; authors should send final manuscripts only. We also have a liberal copyright agreement that we feel authors will appreciate. They can find information on that agreement and other info on our website at http://www.overnightbuses.com.
If you have any questions about the magazine, don't hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Thomas Tegart
