I'm wondering if I can truly make money from blogging?
Can you make money from blogging?

Thanks for the question. I say "yes" you can. It's best to work for organizations that are looking for "bloggers" for their site. You can earn $25+ per post. I know this to be true because I've seen jobs that offer $25+, and I earn this from my one client. You could also work (telecommute) within an organization's marketing department as their copywriter / blogger.
If you're asking if you can make money from you own blog by doing affiliate marketing -- good luck to you. I'm a bit cynical right now with affiliate marketing. Supposedly, bloggers can money this way. I know I have great content, but I haven't made a single penny from affiliate marketing. In fact, my web host just "automatically" renewed (I knew this would happen). I kept thinking in the back of mind that perhaps I could have cancelled it. I've been receiving link backs to my site, but the cash would be better. Just my thoughts.
The affiliate marketing I do is thru CJ, Performics, and Linkshare. Perhaps those sites are not worth it. There's a lot of talk about Clickbank, but I've been too discouraged to go thru the website -- I have an account with them.
I hope this helped!

Totally agree -- cash is always better...especially when you're in college.

Rebecca, sorry you're discouraged. I agree that link backs are nice, but cash would be nice. Just remember that your writing may have helped someone, somewhere. It will come back to you.

Mates, I agree that making money from affiliate marketing can be tricky. Work with organizations as their blogger/copywriter. It helps if you know SEO or SEM (search engine marketing). The more you know...

I just learned about Google AdWords Keywords Tool. You can find keywords by searching a webpage URL. When you go to Google AdWords Keywords Tool, you have a choice to search "descriptive words and phrases or website content." Use website content and see what keywords are returned.
For example, if you have a travel niche you would like to get into, find a website that is already up and running, copy and paste the URL into the "webpage URL" and see what keywords and phrases are found. You'll be surprised how much time this can save you. Good luck!
