Thanks, Trisha, you're making me blush. But, you are right about choosing a niche, especially when travel blogging. It has made a huge difference for me.

Hi Donna - welcome to the Forum!

You have a fabulous site - I'm a fan of yours as well! You're one of the small group of SMART travel bloggers in that you chose an under-served niche that you know well and have established yourself as an authority in that niche - brava! Others in this forum would do well to learn from you too.

Oops, I jumped in and started commenting on posts before I even introduced myself.

I'm a Tucson-based freelance writer who also blogs about active travel for baby boomers. My Itchy Travel Feet.

I'm a big fan of Travel Writers Exchange. Trisha and Rebecca are doing a fine job of educating us. Thanks!

My goal is to buy a flat in Edinburgh, Scotland and live there for a couples months out of the year. I love the International Fringe Festival which takes place in August. It's a great festival to attend. I stayed in a hostel and it was the best time.

I have a cousin whose husband serves in the U.S. Army. They were "shipped" to Heidelberg, Germany in January 2009. They have a six-year old daughter, and I think it's a great experience for her to be exposed to other cultures. She may even pickup the German language.

Welcome Jennifer! That's great that you live in Germany. Berlin and Munich are on my travel list. Austria is on my travel list as well. Actually, I have many countries on my travel list most of them are in Eastern & Western Europe, but I would like to visit Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, India, the Middle East, and some other countries.

Enjoy the forum. We'll do our best to answer your questions. If I cannot answer it, I know someone else will provide an answer <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_cool.gif" title="8)" class="bb_smilies" />

Interesting blog as well; keeping a daily blog can sometimes pose a challenge for me at times but it's good to see you're keeping it up, and with a lot of detail to attention!

My name is Jennifer L. Price and I like to think that I've been traveling since the day I was born in Frankfurt, Germany to American parents that worked for the U.S. Government. I've lived in 9 different places in 3 countries on 2 continents.

I'm currently living in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany an idyllic ski resort town at the base of the Zugspitze, Germany's tallest mountain, and about 45 minutes away from Munich and 30 minutes from the Austrian border.

I've been working at travel writing for a little more than two years (although I took some significant time off to earn my MBA last year) and am just getting back into it. I've been published in several publications, write for Suite101, and have a daily travel blog.

I'm always up for learning new skills and the group here seems quite helpful and knowledgeable.

Please check out my website (www.jenniferlprice.com) and blog (http://journeysandadventures.today.com).

I look forward to learning and exploring with all of you!
