A few suggestions Bob:

1) Put a picture of yourself in the "About us" section. We would all love to see who we are following the adventures of <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />
2) The right-click and highlight function are disabled <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_sad.gif" title=":(" class="bb_smilies" /> It makes it hard for some people to comment about things or right-click spell check.
3) When you visit a place try taking some photos to share on your blog posts. They help the traffic to your site both organically and externally.
4) putting link-able tags on your posts (similar to how they do it on this site) will also help increase flow to individual posts.

Hope those help. The rest looks really good though.

To build upon Trisha Miller comment: You could always try to do a guest blogger exchange with some other high-profile travel blogs. This basically means that you would write about some topic on their site and they would do the same for yours. It is an easy way to get your name out there and get the right audience interested in your personality/writing style.

Answer is allways the same - get more backlinks. (I Know that is not easy) <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

I have a way!
IBTraveler, which is a international publication (part of International Business Times) getting much more hits has a series called recently returned. Submit an original piece that evokes the senses of a place, not guide book style, more of a feature article. Submit your piece to k.dutile@ibtimes.com

Well we can't offer monetary payment it will certainly draw more attention to your blog!

Hi Mike

I took a quick look at your site - nice job! Good design, plenty of interesting content, and I like your conversational writing style. Your personality definitely comes through.

But given that it doesn't appear geared toward attracting traveling consumers, your most likely target audience would be people who simply want to follow your adventures because of your personality, rather than to research information for a trip to place that you write about (please feel free to correct my misimpression if you think I'm off-base).

So with that impression in mind, I think the best thing for you to do, aside from ensuring that you post new content on a consistent and somewhat frequent basis, is to get out there in the community of travel bloggers and engage with them in a meaningful way - that means leaving thoughtful comments on their posts, participating in various groups, communities, and forums (such as the Travel Bloggers Group on Facebook) and follow other travel bloggers on Twitter.....

The reason that I suggest connecting with other travel bloggers is that many of them are like-minded, in that they love to simply connect with, and read about, other travelers, and on the whole they are a very engaging and supportive group.

Another thing you can do to attract more traffic is, of course, to spend time on your SEO - determining what keywords or phrases you want to draw traffic for, and focus on what you can do to improve your search engine results for those words and phrases, but don't sacrifice your writing style to it - after all, your stories are what people will enjoy. There are a lot of websites and guides on SEO but I do think that Andy Hayes' book "Mastery Guides: DIY SEO" is a simple, straightforward, and easy to follow instruction book.

Good luck and post back sometime to let me know how it's going <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":-)" class="bb_smilies" />

Hi all,

I have been blogging for about 6 months now and I have seen a steady build up of momentum. I am now averaging about 100-150 hits a day, but I wanted to get some advice on how to bump up my traffic to 200-300 hits a day? Any help would be appreciated.

The Tall Gringo

Best,
