Up and coming travel website is publishing country guides for volunteering abroad. If you've traveled and volunteered abroad, you may be the country...
Guides will be give someone who wants to go volunteer there an idea of what it would be like. You must have spent time/lived abroad and volunteered. Guides must be authoritative and unbiased. If you are responding on behalf of an organization, your guide can't be promotional or focused on one group. See the link for an example of the Official Go Overseas Guide to Volunteering in Peru. Message or email me (katie at gooverseas.com) for more info!

I don't mind paying a fee if I am going to get some great and helpful info.
LizCleere on "Travel Writers Club"

I've just launched a new website, http://www.lizcleere.com, specifically aimed at itinerant writers like me. If you're a rolling stone or are in a perpetual state of travel you might be interested in becoming part of this small group.

I've set it up so that a small band of people -- maximum 12 -- can get together to swap travel stories once a month and GIVE EACH OTHER CONSIDERED LITERARY CRITICISM. Like the creative writing groups you find in most towns, this on-line version will nurture and encourage its writers to improve.

There will be monthly assignments. All members will be required to write up to 500 words on a given theme, and to critique the previous month's work of the other eleven members. We will also have voluntary ad hoc assignments, and possibly guest posts and Q&A sessions.

The club is free to join. I've had to limit the size to twelve members as that is about the maximum number I can handle at the moment. We'll see how it progresses.

I've set a little competition for applicants to write 500 words on 'The Itinerant Writer' and to let me have a few words about themselves.

Mini biog: I live on a boat and am slowly sailing round the world. I write cruising stories (destination pieces)for Sailing Today, a national sailing magazine in the UK. I've had some success in writing competitions. I would like to break into mainstream travel writing and am hoping this club will be one small step for all its members to improve their writing skills.

Hi everyone! I have been reading TWE for awhile now, but never realized/took the time to see this forum. I've just signed up and hope to get a bit more involved and get to know you all a little bit better!

A bit about me ... I am a full time travel journalist and blogger. I've written two books and mostly do online work these days. My husband and I recently relocated to London after a year in Prague and, before that, a year in my home state of New Mexico and, before that, 6 months in China and, before that, Ireland, which is where my DH is from. <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Have you recently returned from an unforgettable trip abroad?

IBTraveler is pursuing previously unpublished material for a new series called "Recently Returned." We seek insightful narratives from a recent trip that evoke the sights, sounds, and smells of a destination. A strong voice and a clear point of view are paramount. We are not interested in top ten lists, journal entries or guidebook-style information.

What we can offer is a byline and a link to any blogs you may have to help you draw more traffic to your personal site. You will retain the copyright for your work. However, we reserve the right to reproduce the content as needed. This is a good opportunity for emerging writers to build up clips and get published with a global news organization. It's also a good way for travelers to share their stories with a larger audience.

Please submit a completed manuscript to k.dutile@IBTimes.com with the words, "Recently Returned" in the subject line. Submissions should be approximately 750-1000 words, though quality is more important than quantity. Due to the volume of submissions, we regret that we cannot respond to each entry. However, if your article is selected, we will notify you before publication to create your byline and discuss any photos you may wish to contribute.

We look forward to reading your stories!
