Does anyone have writing exercises they use? I'd like to strengthen my skills and feel writing exercises will help me. What about writing sites? Do you visit any that give you words, phrases, or symbols that you must use to create a story? Please share. Thanks.

This one will make you laugh, but I love it......I came across this some time ago and while you can use the online version free, I bought the desktop version (it's only $10 and works on either Windows or Mac because it runs on Adobe Air) and it's called "Write or Die"......it's a cross between a writing program that removes all other distractions and a game, but it's fun and forces you to focus!

Also, I love Writers Digest and their writing prompts - go to their home page and there is a box at the top with several tabs, click on "Prompt"......

I discovered http://www.creativecopychallenge.com/ through another website. I'm having a lot of fun writing the short stories.
It's a win-win situation. You get to write and publish your short story on the site, receive a backlink, make new friends, and have a place to showcase your talent.
