I'm getting bored with writing from home, especially since it's getting warmer out. Any suggestions/tips on where to write besides the local cafe/coffee shop. I'm not a big fan of noise so any tips would be helpful. Thanks!
Where do you like to write?

I was at a Starbucks (I know -- I was meeting someone) yesterday and there's no way I could write there. A guy was talking very loudly on his cell phone. I couldn't even concentrate on the book I brought with me to pass the time as I waited. Plus, I prefer independent coffee shops because they have more variety of drinks and offer more than just Splenda to put in your tea.
You may need to bring earphones or ear plugs to block out the noise from the other patrons if you go to a cafe/coffee shop. You could always go to the library and write.

I sometimes like to write the old-fashioned way, with pen and paper. So when the weather is good I move to my garden. I'm lucky I live in a quiet neighbourhood. Soemtimes I take my writing pad and lie on my bed to write.
Seems to work somehow when I have no inspiration.Posted 1 year ago # -
If you have a garden or a special place outside, that'd be a perfect spot to write. I write in my office at my desk but that's because I rely (sometimes too heavily) on my laptop. I often wonder how I would manage without it or what on earth I did before I got it. I can generally write anywhere and yes, even without this laptop, but I prefer the solitude of my office. I am surrounded by my books and their words inspire me to write. Do your journal? I have been journaling (long hand) for years and enjoy taking it out to the garden to do so. Also, when I was on camping trips, I always took my journal and wrote a bit in it while sitting at the water's edge. I have discovered that when I'm writing a western, the return to nature inspires me even more. I had a beta-reader tell me that she could almost hear the creaking of the leather on the saddle. That made my heart sing!
