I've been waiting to hear back from editors about a query letter I sent three weeks ago. What is the protocol on contacting editors? I don't want to seem pushy, but I don't want to miss out on an opportunity. Thanks...
When is it appropriate to call editors?

Yesterday, I left a message for the editor and assistant editor of a publication. It's been three weeks since I was supposed to hear about a guidebook opportunity. If it's more than three weeks since you heard from an editor, I would call. You never know what could be causing the delay -- work, busy schedule, etc...Sometimes it helps to call because it shows you're interested. Most people would assume they didn't get the opportunity. Good luck!
