I've been hearing a lot of talk that article marketing is waning. Is this true? Is it better to spend my time Tweeting and doing other things? Looking for some opinions on the topic of article marketing.
What's the story with article marketing? Good? So yesterday?

I've heard the same things about article marketing. I must admit that I haven't done much of it lately. Between Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other sites, you can spend half the day on social media and networking. I say stick with article marketing even if it's just Ezine Articles. Getting your name out there along with a link to your website can help increase traffic to your site.

Article Marketing is to the world of internet publishing what Syndication is to the world of print publishing.
It's getting your article picked up by many different sites - with your byline intact - the same way that (if you were very, very lucky) your article would get picked up and "syndicated" (printed) in many different newspapers. Getting syndicated is what many travel writers dream of happening, but had no way of making happen until the internet came along.
IT"S A GOOD THING!
An added benefit of online syndication (via article marketing) is that it gets you many inbound links to your site.
Article marketing is NOT going to "wane" or go away, or become less important - what may happen is that some of the smaller sites will eventually either go out of business or get bought out by larger sites, in much the same way that small newspapers either struggled to get by, went under, or acquired new owners.
If you're NOT submitting your articles to sites you're missing out on an easy way to build credibility as an expert author and gain inbound links (and traffic) to your site. Ignore it if you wish, but you're only hurting yourself in the long run by doing so.
