Well, I managed to upgrade to WordPress 2.8. Then they went to 2.8.1, but I successfully upgraded to that. Now they have issued 2.8.2. What's the difference between 2.8.1 and 2.8.2? What's the reason for so many upgrades? Just curious.

Thought I'd jump in on this one. Not sure what changed with 2.8.1 vs. 2.8.2. Maybe they had more bugs to work out. I will say that I use some plugins and they weren't working. Thankfully the people who developed them finally updated them so I've bee upgrading some of my plugins. You may want to wait to upgrade to 2.8.2 because 2.8.1 hasn't been out that long and WordPress upgraded it

I agree with the Duchess - I generally wait a bit before upgrading to make sure that a new version is really and truly stable, and that all plugins I use are compatible......I use a custom Theme, but it's also advisable to ensure that your Theme is compatible too, as sometimes the core code changes certain references that can make Themes look out of whack.
If you're really, really, interested, the development team at WordPress does keep what is called "change logs" documenting what is new/different from the previous version, but they haven't yet updated the change log for 2.8.2. Perhaps in a couple of weeks that will be updated. You can bookmark this page and revisit it in the future:

Also there is a complete listing of change logs from all prior versions here:

If you do decide to upgrade be sure to come back and post your opinion!
