I have a lot of material to share with my readers and would like to publish a 'newsletter or magazine' quarterly or perhaps monthly. What types of services are available? I heard of AWeber, but don't know much about it. A magazine seems daunting, but I figured I'd start my own rather than wait to be published in Travel+Leisure or some other magazine
What's a good software for creating a newsletter or magazine for a website?

Hi BillieJean
Wow that sounds like it could be a very large undertaking, depending on how 'big' you want to go with it. My advice is to start a little smaller, with a monthly newsletter first, and once you get to a significant number of readers, you can attempt a format change to something that looks and feels more like a "true" ezine (online magazine) - I've seen some that are spectacular but no doubt expensive to produce, so you'd want to be in a positive-revenue position before you jump into that.
To start a newsletter, you can start as simply as syndicating your blog post via an RSS Feed. WordPress makes it extremely simple because it includes the Feed, but you'll want to convert it to FeedBurner (which Google owns) so that you can track how many people read your feed (easy to follow instructions at feedburner.com). AWeber is not free, but reasonably priced and allows you to send your RSS feed via email to subscribers (after you sign up and follow some simple steps you'll get the code to paste into your site to create an email signup form)....
There are MANY other service providers that compete with AWeber, such as Constant Contact, but we use AWeber for it's simplicity and flexibility.
Once you have the hang of producing a regular newsletter under your belt, and a good size subscriber list, that would be the time to start researching options to take it to the next level. Since technology changes at a lightning pace, I'd wait until then to spend a lot of time and effort researching it, as anything you find today could be obsolete next week
Let me know when you have your newsletter going - I'll sign up!
