I'd like to incorporate my photos into my blog. What types of software are available? I know there's Photoshop, but I think that's expensive.
What types of software is available for photography?

I think it depends on what you want to do with your photos. I use Adobe Photoshop to enhance or to 'clean-up' the photos. Adobe also has Photoshop Elements. You may opt for Corel Paint Shop Pro which costs less than Photoshop. If you're on a Mac, you could use iPhoto. There's also a software called Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate Roxio, but I don't know much about it.

I agree with Rebecca - it depends on what you're looking to do with them......for simple tasks like cropping, resizing, or optimizing for the web (which just means reducing the resolution down to 72dpi, the max than monitors can display), then any of the freeware that comes on most computers (iPhoto for Macs, and Microsoft Photo Editor for Windows) is adequate. In addition there are several decent free apps available, such as Picasa and IrFanView. And there is even Photobucket, a free online tool.
If you want to dig much deeper into manipulating your photos you should first decide what tools you need, because software like Photoshop is not cheap, but is certainly sophisticated. You may want to consider taking some online courses first to help you determine your needs and comfort level before you purchase any software.
