I was wondering if there are any "new" techniques that you've discovered to increase traffic flow to your website. I've been doing the regular techniques (commenting on forums, blogs, social media, etc...)but I'm wondering if there's anything new. Thanks for sharing.

Hi WM2 - those are all great techniques, so keep doing them!
Unless you are ready to start spending money on marketing strategies (which I DON'T recommend unless you have a product that you're selling), then there are TWO ways to get people to your site:
1. By following a link: Getting as many links to your site 'out there' as you can, which includes all the ways you've previous mentioned, PLUS guest blogging, asking other sites to add a link to you, and making sure that you're offering enough good content to attract links; and
2. By finding you via a search: Making sure that the search engines know what your site is about so that it can get properly indexed AND focusing adequately on SEO techniques to make sure it ranks well so that they can send you more traffic.
The only "new" things that come down the path are the networks you can take advantage of, but the methods remain the same: Quality content, focus on SEO, gain inbound links.

I agree with Trisha. The next step to take would be marketing strategies. If you're at that point, go for it. If not, do what you can to get more links to your website and network.
