Ok, obviously I'd like to make some "real cash" from affiliate marketing. What criteria could we be looking for? I'm not going to pick a ton of programs just to see if I make some cash. I'd like to be discerning what it comes to affiliate marketing. Thanks!
What criteria could you use for choosing affiliate programs?

I suggest reading all of the merchant terms before you sign up. See if you can find out any statistics on the offers made by the merchant, i.e., how much affiliates make on average. Also, be on the look out for any "tips and tricks" from merchants. Sometimes they will offer guidelines on how to earn cash from their products.

Sign up for everything and experiment. Then stick with what works the best.

Gary is right - if you want to make 'real cash', be open to trying everything to find what works.
What's most important is picking ads that are relevant to your content and to why people are at your site - anything else is likely to be a waste of space and not work for you, leading to frustration.
