Are there any travel photographers out there? I dabble with photography but would appreciate knowing the secret to snapping action shots such as jumping in the air, kayaking, etc...How do you find the right angle? What about the light? What about timing? What is the best type of camera to use? Thanks for your input...

Wow - Richard that is really kind of a subjective question - I've seen many great action shots but they aren't all the same - some make use of a 'blur' to indicate movement or speed, others make the action seem still...
I'm not even a good photographer, let alone anything close to professional caliber, but I would guess that the answer would depend on what kind of result you want - I don't think there is any 'one' secret.
I know we do have a few good photographers who frequent this forum, but I think the best advice would be to sign up for a photography class, and learn many different techniques so that you can develop a style that you like.
Then come back here and share your secrets with the rest of us!

Choose your angle with care. You may want to practice a few shots to find the right angle and jump shot.
Suggestions
1) Look at photos of action shots and study them.
2) Subscribe to photography magazines or search the internet for "action shot" and see what you find.
3) Find travel photographers on Twitter and follow them.Posted 1 year ago #
