Has anyone taught English in China or somewhere else. I'm curious to hear your stories. This might be a "neat" experience. It's one way to travel the world.

I met someone in my screenwriting group who taught English in China. He said it was a rewarding experience.

I taught intermediate English conversation in Beijing to a group of soldiers (likeo ne of my students was a colonel), doctors and medical students, and others when I lived in Beijing. I was working as a copy editor at China Daily at the time, and most of us foreigners taught English on the side at one school or another. I'd never taught before, but must have been doing something right, as the class kept growing. I found out later that students could go to any class they wanted, and came to mine because my original students said I made learning English fun. I enjoyed it, and would do it again if the circumstances were right.
If you're a native English speaker and can breathe, it's not too difficult to get a job teaching English as a second language in China, though without a degree and some ESL experience, you could find yourself out in the boonies.
