Been thinking about all of the natural disasters we've had from Katrina to the Tsunami in Thailand. How can travel writers help? Guess we could do volunteer travel, but what about a travel blog about natural disasters...
Natural disasters and how travel writers can help.

Good question. It's too bad we forget about natural disasters once they occurred and help has arrived. The people still need help once the hurricane, tornado, or tsunami has moved onto the next place.
As a travel writer, you could begin a blog about natural disasters, their location, the people, and how travel writers/travelers can help. When you travel to a place that has had a natural disaster, you could stop by the Red Cross and ask how you could help out (then you can write about it). Before you travel, you could visit the American Red Cross's website and find out about volunteer opportunities and other ways to help.
