Pretty soon I'll be done with college -- Oh! Yeah! Would like to know how people juggle the J.O.B., traveling, and travel writing? How can I travel for 6 months to one year without putting a whole lot on my credit cards? What about finding a J.O.B. when I come back? Don't think my employer would hold my job for me

Good luck! Organization and time management come in handy. Make sure you have enough saved before you embark on your adventure. You are correct, your employer may not "hold" your job for you. I say put as little on credit cards as possible -- that's just me!

Rebecca is right - very few employers, if any, will hold a job for 6 to 12 months for someone, unless you've been with them for many years and are a key employee, and typically you'd have to get something in writing to protect you in the event that your temporary replacement does a better job that you did!
There are many ways to travel cheaply, including staying at hostels and couch-surfing, and you might want to consider signing on with an organization like the Peace Corps or Americorps, which cover part of your expenses in exchange for your time and labor volunteering to help build schools or other civic projects in other countries. You can also get an ESL certificate (english as a second language) and volunteer to teach - sometimes organizations will pay part of your expense in exchange for english lessons.
You should definitely check out a guest post we recently featured, written by Shannon O'Donnell, about planning for a round the world trip, which includes a lot of great advice. There is also a link at the end of that post to her budget spreadsheet to help you plan your finances.
