Hi Metro City1! Are you from the UK? The "cheers" at the end caught my eye. Say hello to London, Bath, Edinburgh, York, and all of the other great cities in the UK! Now that that's out the way, onto answering your question.
Getting published can be a bit tricky. The easiest and fastest way to become published is through article marketing sites such as Ezine Articles. Now, if you would like to become published in a major newspaper or magazine that could take some time.
Editors are busy people. If you're going to submit a travel article to a travel publication, make sure you READ the guidelines. It's best to understand the submission process before you send off your article.
Also, make sure your copy is error free. Have a few people read your travel article. If you know someone who is a "grammar guru," ring them up and ask for their help.
I hope this helps.

Yeah, getting published can take some time. Guidelines can be extensive and you must read through them carefully. Editors will toss out anything that doesn't fit with what they're looking for. Here's a tip - if you want to be published in a travel magazine, read a few articles and get a feel for the style and tone of the magazine. This can increase your chances of getting an editor to look at your article. You can always contact the editor and pitch an idea. Give it a try, maybe the editor will be in a good mood that day{!}

Someone told me to check the travel section of my local newspaper to see if readers are asked to submit a brief synopsis (with photos) on "where did you travel this year?" Just something to think about...check your local newspapers to see if they have something like that or maybe they ask for "filler" articles. You never know what could happen...BillieJean
