Ok, I would like to know the average time people spend on social media. I think I spend waaay too much time and not enough on writing. I'd like to have a balance. Thanks!
How much time do you spend on social media?

Hi Angela
It's very easy to get sucked in, isn't it? Sometimes it's hard to tear myself away from it, but I got to a point where I just had to set some limits for myself, because it was interfering with both my ability to get work accomplished, and to have any kind of "down" time (or family time).....
So now I try to stay away from it on weekends - I don't tweet and don't even look at Facebook on the weekends, and during the week I try to stick with just a half-hour in the morning, 15 minutes or so at lunchtime, and maybe another 15 to 30 minutes at the end of my day. During that time I spend a couple of minutes posting whatever is new on TWE, and the rest of the time reading or commenting on other FB posts that others have made, and retweeting a few things that I found in my twitter stream that I think my followers might like.
I know that there's a lot more I could - or maybe should - do to help TWE grow in the social networking arena, but that's all the time I can carve out of my day for it right now. I really am trying to find some balance myself, but I'd be satisfied if I could just get closer to being caught up with my workload!

Since I'm working a temp full-time job I don't spend that much time on social media which is good for me. I used to check Facebook, Twitter, etc...every time I received a prompt or email. I agree with Trisha, I do my best to stay away from it on the weekends. I'll work on social media in the morning before I go to work and when I get home from work and that's it!

I try to only focus on it (and by "it" I mean facebook and twitter) when I take a mid-day break for some lunch. I give myself only 30 to 45 minutes, but I do it every day. I know there is stuff I'm missing, but if I don't limit myself it's too easy to find the whole day slipping away...
