Hi WM2
I hear you......my life is always in chaos, I guess I've just gotten used to it......all I can offer is a few suggestions, but I can't really say I have this problem solved - I've just gotten a little better at juggling.
What I find helps the most is to try to stick to a schedule - I get up at the same time each day and only allow myself 1 hour to deal with email before I start working on tasks, then I don't check it again until lunchtime. I find that I think best in the morning, so I try to only take phone calls in the afternoons. Then, before I quit working each day I prepare a "to do" list for the following day, so I know what my priorities should be when I start working the next morning.....that doesn't mean I always stay focused, but I try to not stray from my list.
I also am working hard at only allowing myself to focus on any social media promotion on Facebook or Twitter that I need to do (for TWE) to during my lunch hour - I know that may not be the ideal time for reaching the most followers, but it helps keep me from getting too caught up in it, and that's when I also try to catch up on reading other blogs that I like to follow. So I eat lunch at my desk every day.
I also save ALL magazine reading for when I'm flying or otherwise traveling - it does mean I have stacks of reading to get through, but I use a rolling bag for my computer and I load it up with reading since I don't worry about "carrying" it around.
Anything you can come up with to stay organized will help ease any stress over the chaos swirling around you.....you might also want to read a terrific guest post by Wendy Van Hatten about how to get organized:
Are You As Organized as You Can Be?

I feel your pain! My life's been turned upside down and is chaotic. I had to move from Arizona back to Ohio for financial reasons. I'm grateful that my mom allowed me to move back with her but as a writer and person, I enjoy peace and quiet. Plus, I've changed. It's challenging for me but I guess it's a good test for me to see how I react to people who are still the same. With that said ... I'm focused on my goal which is to earn a high income, pay off my bills, and move out ASAP! Focusing on my goals keeps me sane
Here are some tips:
1. Get up at the same time every day.
2. Check email twice a day (choose when).
3. Dedicate 2 hours per day to social media.
4. Take a lunch.
5. Stretch if you feel yourself becoming restless.
6. Listen to relaxing music.
7. Consider making your home and office feng shui.
8. Keep decent work hours (your choice).
9. Learn to say NO to family, friends, and clients.
10. Just breathe!Posted 1 year ago #
