I've googled this question and can't seem to find an editor for the nonfiction travel book I am writing and need edited. Unless you have traveled I'm not so sure you can understand the concepts and feelings that go along with travel writing so I would prefer an editor who has done editing for travel essays or narrative memoirs, etc. Any ideas? thanks
How do you find a good editor for a nonfiction travel narrative book?

Since you're looking specifically for a travel book editor, you may want to query publications such as National Geographic, Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, and other travel publications.
If you're apart of social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, etc...post something on your page that you're looking for a travel book editor.
Take a look at these resources:

2. Lonely Planet http://www.lonelyplanet.com/jobs/work-at-lonely-planet-authors
3. Preditors and Editors http://pred-ed.com/

Great suggestions Rebecca!
This forum is also a good place to find an Editor who has experience with travel stories - if I recall correctly, both Maralyn Hill and Wendy Van Hatten offer editorial services, including book editing.......
