I'm considering writing a fiction/travel writing book. How descriptive do you get? Do you give all of the details of a place, object, etc...? Or, do you leave something to the imagination? I'm new to fiction writing so I can use all the help I can get
How descriptive do you get when you write a book?

Good question. First, who's the target audience? Second, how much do you want to leave to the imagination? You may want to go to the library and check out some books on fiction writing. Pay careful attention to the authors you read and notice how descriptive they are. It's not necessary to be like J.R.R. Tolkien
