Been thinking about my parents. They are thinking about traveling, and I thought a "senior travel website" would be a good niche market. What do you think? Who knows, maybe I can talk them into contributing to the website
How about senior travel as a niche?

What do you mean by "senior" travel? If your target audience is baby boomers (1946 - 1964), you have discovered a large market, considering there are 77 million of us.
I write about active travel for baby boomers at My Itchy Travel Feet .
Good luck.

It's a wonderful niche - I love the idea of targeting baby boomers, and also those even older (as my parents are).....there should be resources for those who are even older than boomers who still enjoy traveling, even if they have to modify how & where they travel because of some of the physical limitations of age....

I guess I could include baby boomers in the mix. By senior travel I meant 70+. You'd be surprised how many of people age 70+ are traveling these days.

In fact its a growing niche industry in tourism, something I have noticed even in India. Take a look at these figures
European Travel Comission
Also another growing trend is disability travelPosted 1 year ago # -
Not only are the over-70s traveling more... they are also on the Internet more... so there's a win-win if you are looking at writing for internet sources.

Sorry for posting a comment and then running off for a week or two. Richard, yes I think there is a market for the over-70 travel group. You can even call them "seniors" :-). It seems to me, the appeal would be not only to the over-70 travelers but also for younger members of the family who are planning travels with senior members.

Donna I love that last concept - I would be very interested because my parents are now in their 70s and I'm planning a trip with them (and my mother-in-law, nearing 80) for later this year. I think a "seniors" travel blog could be very helpful!
