I heard "vlogging" used in the travel community. Has anyone else heard of this? What does this new buzz word mean? Thanks!

Actually it's not exactly new, but vlogging is just a contraction of video+blogging....
Basically it just means creating a video of your blog post, instead of typing it. I've seen a few Vlogs, and most of them have a brief text intro to their blog (vlog) post, but no more than that - you have to watch the video, rather than read a post.
Personally, I don't care for these types of blogs - I'm a busy person, and generally I scan a post quickly to determine if it's going to be worth the investment of my time and attention to read it fully. I don't have time to wander around the internet watching videos.
Obviously I can't speak for everyone, but it seems like the vast majority of people I meet and speak to are like me - very busy......it could be why this form of blogging isn't really getting 'hot' and why maybe you're just hearing about it.....it isn't really popular.
That's not to say it won't get popular - who knows where the fickle winds of popularity will blow - but it won't catch on with me.
If you do try it, I'd love to know so that I can check back with you on how it's working out!

All I can offer is my own opinion, which is that I skip anything over 2 minutes unless it promises to be really, really good.....and I hate those videos that don't tell you how long the video is before or when you start it - if I have to guess how long it is, I only give it a few seconds to prove itself worthy, or I stop it and move on.....
BUT that's just me - you should probably get more opinions because it could be that others would watch a bit longer video than I would
