Would anyone like to share their experience with groups on Facebook and LinkedIn? The good, bad, and ugly. I'd like to connect with writers around the world. Any groups that you like on Facebook or LinkedIn? Please share...thanks!

I've grown fond of LinkedIn; I gave it a second chance. I've met writers, publishes, and editors. Some groups I belong to are Aspiring Writers, The Creative Professionals, and others. I'm testing out groups, so far I like these and the other groups I joined. Facebook is o.k. The groups on LinkedIn seem to be more active. I don't receive "prompts" from Facebook when someone posts a discussion within a group. I need to check my settings.

I do like Facebook, but like anything it takes time and effort for it to work. You really do have to be active in the groups you choose to participate in, or you won't get much out of them.
There's a new site called Tripatini that is looking promising - they also have a group for "media" which is writers, bloggers, editors, and publishers. I haven't tried it yet but I intend to soon
Rebecca I do think that is a setting you can change - I know I posted in a discussion a few months ago and still occasionally get emails when other people post to that same discussion, but if someone posts to the group "wall" I don't think you get any email notification of those, I think what gets posted to the Group's wall also goes on your wall (for those Groups you belong to).
