I saw this great show on Smithsonian Channel that I DVRd: Soul Of A People- Writing America's Story. Definitely worth seeing. I hadn't realized the role that writing had in Roosevelt's New Deal!

Thanks for the information. I don't have cable so I'll see if it's online.

You're welcome. Speaking on "online", I have been looking for Word Travels. I can't get it here. Is there a place online that shows full episodes of the show?

Hi Cybele
Good luck finding Word Travels.....it used to be on what was the Canadian part of OLN (Outdoor Life Network).....apparently the American version of OLN changed their name to Versus and now feature pretty much only sports full time (like football, hockey, auto racing, etc). Almost no more "outdoor" type of programming. We don't get the Canadian version here and I understand it can be really hard to find with most TV providers. I haven't found any online source to watch episodes.
We also don't get the Smithsonian Channel but at least they have a good website where you can find information on Soul Of A People, for example they are taking it on the road to universities and libraries, and on their site you can find out where it will be playing near you......since there are a lot of people who don't get that channel, I think it's great that they are bringing to show to where people can see it.
