Good question...I'm listening to a teleseminar on this...I'll let you know how it is. Apparently in the next 10 years, the majority of media will be distributed to people via the internet.
People interested in "green business" will utilize social media for marketing and advertising, announcements, and things like that. A statistic that was mentioned was that "Canadians are known as the leaders when it comes to things like "social media." Maybe it has something to do with the weather

You can use Facebook to market your website or blog. Do not put anything on any social media network that you do not want people to see. Remember, employers and recruiters are "Googling" people and looking at Facebook and MySpace pages. If you have pictures of your "exotic vacation," you may want to take it off of your Facebook or MySpace page.
It's a great place to market your business...

Don't forget about using Twitter. I heard someone say that "over Tweeting" can do more harm than good. Apparently, most people are not using Twitter in the proper manner.

One thing with Facebook, this is just my opinion..I think they could do a better job of making it user friendly. If you want to remove yourself from being a "Fan" of something, how do you do it? I'm still searching how to "remove" some items from my Facebook page. You can easily delete items from your MySpace page...

If you sign up with Facebook, make sure to read their Terms of Service. They received a ton of emails because the new terms state that "Facebook will own everything that is on the site." They went back to their original Terms of Service because many, many people were upset about the new terms. If Facebook wants to "own" everything on the site, it could be a risky move in more ways than one. Stay tuned!
