There are many hosting companies out there. Is one better than the other? Does it really matter which one I choose?
Does it matter who I choose for site hosting?

There are a few we recommend such as 1&1 Hosting and Blue Host (also recommended by WordPress). These hosting companies are considered to be inexpensive. It helps if you know HTML and web coding because you'll be able to customize your website or "tweak" a WordPress template. I hope this helped.

Oh My! I don't know HTML which is why I haven't gone to the next step. I'd like to make money from blog, but I'm afraid I'm not knowledgeable about web coding. I find it rather discouraging because I would like to go to the next level. What can I do? I'm fussy about spacing/design/presentation. I want my website to reflect my business, but I would like it to have some of my personality in it.

Yeah, it helps if you know HTML coding, CSS, and all that good stuff. Martha, you could hire me
I'll design you a website....Seriously, either hire someone or just find a template that will work for you.

Whoa slow down folks - the beauty of WordPress is that you DON'T have to know any HTML, CSS, or other coding (unless you really want to learn it)......with WordPress you just choose a Theme (and there are thousands to choose from so it shouldn't be too difficult to find one that you like).....many of them are also easily customizable right from the WP administration panel, where you can choose different colors and images.....and there are many "plugins" to choose from as well that add special features and customizations very easily by just clicking "activate" and changing a few settings. You really don't need any knowledge of HTML or CSS or web coding. They help, but they are not necessary.
My advice is to choose a website hosting company that provides one-click installation of WordPress. Then just pick a theme and dive in! Later on down the road if you want to add more complex customizations you can always hire someone who's specialty is WordPress themes and mods - there are plenty of folks like that.
