Should I use my own name for my domain name?

Good question. I think it depends on the purpose of your site. Right now I'm not using my name, but I will in the future. I have a vision for the path I'm walking so I know I'll need a "main site" and then I'll connect my "sub sites." At least this is what I'm envisioning in my head -- details are not worked out yet.
If you feel more comfortable using your name, go ahead and use it. However, there's a chance that it'll be taken. Check to see if it's available -- if it's available then use it. I think domain names are a preference.

Wow! I can't believe it's been quite some time since I've been here...been busy
Anyway, I believe your domain name could be something catchy and short. Make it memorable so people will recognize it, not that your name isn't memorable. It's just that people tend to like things that are "short and sweet." If you have a long last name, it'll be difficult for people to remember. Plus, you want visitors to be able to associate your website/business with your domain name.
Example: if your site focuses on Texas/Mexico Travels -- could use Tex-Mex Vacations.com versus My Name Is So Long.com -- does this make sense? People will know that your website focuses on Texas/Mexican vacations. Did this help?

Interesting...I think it depends on your site. If you're a professional travel agent, perhaps you'd want to incorporate your name into your domain site -- SuzyJonesTravel.com. This way people will recognize your name and that you sell travel. You never know -- people in your area may recognize your name and it word-of-mouth could help drive traffic to your site.

I think this is going over my head...I think it could be difficult to think of a domain name...What if you think of one, register it, and then a few hours later think of something better? Oy!

Yo it's Carter! I think a domain name that has flash is great -- keep it short -- some of us can't remember a long domain name. If it's catchy, it will catch on
