I self-publish guidebooks on travel in China, and they've ranged from 20 to 68 pages. I don't go in for hotel or restaurant listings, nor the heavy detail that the majors do. I don't have to, as my guides are meant to be supplements to those. Most guidebooks are over 100 pages. I think it will depend on the content and how far you want to take your book. You may include maps and photos in your guidebook.
