Hi Angela - good question!

it's actually easier than you think! There are a TON of good pages you can find through Google on how to customize your Twitter page, and a number of services that will do it for you - but it's pretty easy to do it yourself if you have a program like Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks (or similar)......just create a graphic image (.gif, .jpg, or .png) with your logo, website name, tagline, and whatever pertinent information you want people to know about (like your Facebook. LinkedIn, or MySpace pages)...DON'T put in your email address or phone number however......then when you are happy with it, go to your Twitter settings and click on Design, then change the background image and upload it. You can also tweak your page's colors and fonts there too.

Some tips: Keep your background graphic narrow, or the Twitter timeline will cover it, and don't use high-res images as they take a long time to load, and keep it simple - backgrounds that are too "busy" are distracting.

If you need ideas, check out a lot of other people's twitter pages to see what they are doing - make note of those you like! You can also check out ours at http://twitter.com/TravelWriting
