Hey Devin, thanks for responding. I have a ton of ideas for eBooks from traveling to self-help and everything in between. Maybe I'll keep my eBooks at a max of 70 pages. Anything else will be a "regular" book which I'll self-publish!

Hi Duchess,

I think the topic, formatting, usefulness and intention should dictate the length of the ebook. I have read a couple of good ones that are around 20 pages that were good. And one that was 150+ that was a waste of time.

What are you going to write about?

Good luck and happy travels,

Ok, I'm a little confused about how many pages is ideal for an eBook. I've read eBooks with 10 pages to 100 pages. Personally, I believe 70+ pages is a bit extreme for an eBook. What is the ideal number of pages for an eBook? Does it matter? Thanks....

Setting a price for an ebook is a challenge. What are comparable ebooks selling for? Or you can just guess along the lines of how much you'd be willing to pay for a book such as yours.

I have 3 ebooks -- one 10 pages that I sell for $5; the others are 52 and 68 pages, and both sell for $9.95. These two also are available as POD for $13.95 and $15.95.

If you set it too high, you can always lower the price.

I'm working on another ebook now that should be at least 100 pages. I'll probably keep the $9.95 ebook price, and go with $19.95 for the POD. I have not found a similar book on the market, so I could ask more. But I'd rather go for volume sales.

Hi Ralph

If you go to ClickBank you can browse through all the various eBooks that one can promote - this could be good research to see how much to charge - look for similar ones like Rebecca suggested - both in terms of topic, number of pages, and potential value to the reader.

eBooks seemed to be all over the board. Some people charge $9.95 some charge $149. It depends on what you feel your eBook is worth. The alternative is to find eBooks similar to yours and compare pricing. Good luck!

I have an idea for an eBook, and I'd like to sell it. The eBook is about 60 pages long. Any thoughts on how much you'd sell it for? Been looking on the internet for some ideas, but price points are all over the place <img src="http://www.travel-writers-exchange.com/Forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

Hi Sarah

It really depends on what the topic of the ebook is. I agree with Rebecca that, generally speaking, longer ebooks are not well received, but some information cannot be thoroughly covered in a short ebook and purchasers would feel that they didn't get good value if you aren't thorough.

Another consideration is the format - are there a lot of supporting graphics, charts, or checklists? Extra lists of resources?

It really boils down to value and the importance of the information your passing on.

I believe anything over 60 pages is a bit excessive. When I receive an eBook and it's over 60 pages, I sigh. The purpose (my understanding) of an eBook was to provide information that can be easily read online (PDF format). Personally, I prefer not to read no more than 60 pages online; I'd rather buy the book! This is my point-of-view...
