Ease Your Stress Over Travel Writing Articles

Updated: Mar 18th, 2010

Many travel writers may hyperventilate at the thought of writing travel articles each day. Calm down and take a deep breath. If you have some structure around developing your travel articles, you can flesh them out. You’ll be surprised at the amount of travel writing articles you could post on Ezine Articles or Go Articles.

Travel writing articles can be written on almost any travel-related topic. Also, you could write from different angles. You do not have to stick with one angle for your travel writing articles. The more angles you have the more articles you’ll have to write.

Steps to writing travel articles fast

For example, let’s say your niche travel market is adventure travel. One article could be about “personalities of people who seek adventure travel.” If you’re into adventure travel, chances are you’re a risk taker. Take your niche market and make a list of different angles for adventure travel. You could include the following for adventure travel.

  1. Traits of adventure travelers.
  2. Reasons why people seek adventure travel.
  3. Benefits of adventure travel.
  4. Areas of the world with the most adventure travel.
  5. Types of adventure travel.

The travel writing articles that you think of can be written like a feature article—such as “Why Adventure Travel Makes You Feel Alive,” or you format them as a Top 10 list—such as “Top 10 Traits of an Adventure Traveler.” Readers like reading these types of articles. Here’s another tip: take each of these and make them into quizzes — readers enjoy quizzes.

Your quizzes might be:

  • Do you have an adventure traveler attitude?
  • What types of adventure travel would you like to do?
  • Are you stopping yourself from experiencing adventure travel?
  • Do you know what you’re missing with adventure travel?

Once you take the time to brainstorm about your travel writing articles, you’ll find that the ideas flow fast and furious. When you come back from traveling make sure you take the time to think about your travel writing articles. There’s no need to start writing your articles straight-away. Unless, of course; you have an editor that gave you a deadline.

There’s no need to stress over travel writing articles. Remember, before you write your travel writing articles, think about your travel experiences. Let your ideas “swim” around in your head before you start writing. Do this and you’ll have many travel articles written within an hour.

  1. Thanks for the great tips. I never thought of making quizzes out of my travel articles. I do my best to write from different angles, but sometimes I get writer’s block.
