Are you a bull or a bear? When it comes to travel writing, it’s no bull that investing in your career will take you places that you can only imagine. Here’s an investment tip for you: “a bull market is one in which prices of a certain group of securities are rising or are expected to rise. It is a prolonged period where the investment prices rise faster than their historical average. In such times, investors have faith that the market will continue to rise in the long term. Bull markets can happen as a result of economic recovery, an economic boom, or investor psychology.” For more information visit Essortment.com.

What does this have to do with travel writing? It has everything to do with it. According to the article “Invest in Your Writing Career and Build a Richer Future” on All Freelance Writing “you should consider it too – investing in your freelance writing future. We’re not talking about investing money (at least not much). We’re just talking about time – your most valuable asset as a service provider.”

Plan for the future by thinking about earning additional income. What happens if you lose that magazine or newspaper contract? Residual income could come in very handy. Perhaps you would like to make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Investing the time now will save you later!

Extra, Extra Income!

  1. Create an ebook.
  2. Write a travel guidebook.
  3. Design a website that will sell your ebooks and other ebooks, travel, utilize affiliation marketing, or design and sell an online travel or photography course. For more information, visit the “Monetize Your Writing” section on Travel-Writers-Exchange.com.
  4. Write for foreign publications. For more information, visit Photography Passion For Fun.

In conclusion, invest in your travel writing now and earn income in the future. Set aside one or two hours a day to work on a writing project. In the beginning, you will not earn money, but you will reap the rewards in the end. When the stream of money flows your way, know that you earned it from doing what you love!
